About Us

Rea Farms STEAM Academy is a K-8 Magnet school located in the South Learning Community in Charlotte. Our Elementary School (K-5) is a magnet school with all seats filled through the CMS lottery process. Our Middle School (6-8) will also be a magnet school with all seats being filled through the CMS lottery for the 2026 - 2027 school year. ​Rea Farms serves grades K-8 in the 2025-2026 school year. At Rea Farms, STEAM engages the whole child and fosters high achievement in all areas by blending the arts and sciences. Students will be engaged in exploration of creativity and critical thinking with a collaborative environment. As with all CMS schools, Rea Farms will follow the NC State Standards while infusing STEAM components. Students will be provided opportunities for field trips, guest speakers, extracurricular activities, and a wide variety of electives and special area classes. Staff receive STEM training and professional development to reinforce STEAM concepts in their instruction. The expected outcome for our school is to promote high growth for all students while exposing them to a well-rounded STEAM experience.
